Planting and Tending the Tree of Life

Rabbi Elie Kaunfer

We are both the fertile soil for Torah, but also the gardeners who can plant and sow the land. Planting is a Godly act, and it is one that models the fostering of new life. Every time we plant a tree or sow a seed, we spur a sprouting of new life. When Torah is planted within us, we also blossom and grow, yearning toward an eternal life of full fruitfulness—but only if we tend it.
