Oneg Shabbat

Shabbat is so much more than the labor and travel that we may not do and the specific rituals that we must do. The beauty and power of Shabbat is often defined by what is in between the necessary and the forbidden, in the special effort that we choose to put in to make Shabbat special. These extra dimensions of oneg Shabbat, rejoicing in Shabbat, are grounded in and guided by tradition, but are also specifically tailorable to our own priorities, interests, abilities, and needs.
