Meet Shifra and Puah: An Animated Introduction

Shifra and Puah are the midwives in the Exodus story, and in the original Hebrew they are called ha-meyaldot ha-ivriyot - this phrase can be translated as "the Israelite midwives", OR as "the midwives of the Israelites" - which is a very important difference.
