Blood, Bodies, and Covenant

A Capstone Celebration of Hadar's Advanced Kollel
What is the place of our very human, physical bodies in Torah? What is so powerful about blood as a covenantal substance? We’ll explore the role of blood in covenant and Torah, particularly through the examples of korbanot (sacrifices), milah (circumcision), and niddah (menstruation). Through midrash and other texts, we’ll see how the Torah constructs these types of blood as different yet often interwoven pathways to holiness and relationship with God.
